You know why we get this shit?

Because of today’s parents.

Molly-coddling their little drool monkeys and trying to shield them from anything that isn’t sunshine and sprinkles.

Making them wear helmets for everything but taking a shit…changing old prayers to sound “more positive” (as in, “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, ANGELS WATCH ME THROUGH THE NIGHT AND WAKE ME WITH THE MORNING LIGHT”).  Yes, I don’t care much for religion, but you don’t go fucking pussifying an old prayer because OMG IT’S TOO SCARY TO SUGGEST SOMEONE COULD DIE IN THEIR SLEEP.

Seriously - future generations are completely fucked.

Gammel’s artwork is what literally MADE the books.  Those images are literally iconic now.  Changing them is akin to burning them.

I wonder if anybody has tried to contact Mr. Gammell at all for comment…

I didn’t have nightmares about them but I was pretty damn close, and I’ve never seen any movie, nor read any book, that made me that scared. Well, The Fly made me scared of the dark. But I was, like, 7.
The Tower of Terror made me afraid of heights.
You can blame my mom for thinking I’d enjoy both.
